MASASA BEACH IN TINGLOY ISLAND, BATANGAS

Took a camping trip to Masasa Beach in the only island town of the province of  Batangas in Tingloy by availing of a voucher being sold by MJDC Travel Services.  The voucher included the free use of tent, usage of kitchen with stove and cooking wares, cooler with ice, snorkeling equipment and boat transfer in Masasa Port. Although, we availed only of the tent as we asked the residents to cook for us.  Depending on the weather, the port where the boat leaves from Mabini in Batangas could either be in Anilao (the one facing Balayan Bay or during habagat in the Talaga port, the one facing Batangas Bay. The boat ride would be around 45 minutes to one hour and it would dock at the port in the town of Tingloy. One would have to take a tricycle to go to the western side of the island where Masasa beach is found about two kilometers away.  From the drop off point after riding the tricycle, one has to take a short walk down to the beach passing by some residential area and rice fields until one reaches the beach.

The view of Masasa beach from where you have to start the walk to the beach.
It was still summertime so the rice paddies were dry.

This is the view of the beach that greets you after the short hike.

Then we took a short boat ride to the place for our camping.  This is the free ride included in the voucher.

There is a pathway on the western part of the island to some of the houses there. These are the sights along the way.

I found a secluded place where we pitched our tent.
It's a no frills island where you can ask the residents to cook for your meals and dine al fresco.

Some of the corals that could be seen.
