DAVAO DE ORO

The province of Davao de Oro was originally called Compostela Valley until December 2019 when it was changed to its present name. It is composed of eleven municipalities: Compostela, Laak, Mabini, Maco, Maragusan, Mawab, Monkayo, Montevista, Nabunturan which is the capital, New Bataan and Pantukan.  Ecclesiastically, the province falls under the Diocese of Tagum.  Visited the churches of Maco, Nabunturan, Mawab, Maragusan, Lanipao Hill complex in Pantukan. Passed by Mabini but was not able to visit the church.

San Roque Parish, Mawab, Davao de Oro (F-1963)

A big church construction was going on in Mawab when I passed by in 2018. The old church twice or thrice smaller than the church being constructed would be engulfed in the new church.
