CHURCHES IN THE DIOCESE OF BACOLOD, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

During my visit to Bacolod City for the pontifical coronation of the Virgen sang Barangay, I also took the opportunity to visit several parish churches in the towns and cities of Negros Occidental. My goal was to see firsthand how the parishes were implementing the computerization and digitalization of parish records, as the diocese had developed its own system for this purpose.

Over the course of my trip, I was able to visit the parish churches of Bago City, La Carlota City, Pulupandan, Silay City, and Talisay City. My hosts also brought me to Balaan Hills in Barangay Mailum, Bago City—a scenic mountain resort offering panoramic views of Negros Occidental and as far as Iloilo City and Guimaras. This renowned landmark serves as both a pilgrimage site, with its church and iconic towering cross.

To complete the experience, Balaan Hills also features its own restaurant, La Buona Cucina, led by Chef Leo Nikko  Delfinado, an internationally trained chef from Singapore. The unassuming Chef Leo personally came to greet us as we enjoyed their delicious pasta and pizza—a delightful end to an already memorable visit.
