Camiguin is an island province with five towns but with seven volcanoes. With hospitable people, Camiguin is the best place to go for ecotourism. The small island boasts of everything that you can ask for in a nature trip. It has beautiful white beaches, waterfalls, hot and cold springs, volcanoes and places for scuba diving. The 64 km. circumferential road around the island is already cemented as well at the roads leading to the major sites. Hence, it is no longer a hassle to tour around Camiguin.
Camiguin was the destination decided by the priests from the Vicariate of Ormoc for our Easter break. There were 13 of us priests who joined the trip. From Cebu we took the Cebu Ferries boat for an overnight ride to Cagayan de Oro. From Cagayan we right away boarded the bus going to Butuan for our destination in Balingoan which is the jump off point in going to Camiguin. The ferry boat ride took an hour, hence by noontime we were already in Camiguin.

The guso are left under the sun to dry and ready for marketing. They are the raw materials for making gulaman and plastics among other things.

Hi Padre! The pictures are great. Too bad you had that accident at katibawasan falls. I loved the picture where you took a shot of the sea down below by the road side. I supposed you got off your cab and took the shot like what me and my friends did. So i remembered that enjoyable trip we had. It would have been great if you went around Butuan City. It's quite a nice place too there. Anyway, wish you may have gone inside the Paras Beach Resort so you could get a view of the beach fro there. It's very nice. I appreciate the pictures of the churches and the ruins...Well camiguin is small, u have almost toured the province. Wish you had pizza by one of the restaurants located along the roads. You would not notice it as it is just like an ordinary residence turned by the owners into a pizza parlor. Very nice taste. ANyway, thanks God for this blog. I am enjoying it. :-)
I love the island! What particularly caught my attention is how they fuel their vehicles, the island doesn’t have any pump-gas stations, they retail gas contained in bottles of soda by the liter. Anyhow, the locals there are super friendly and accommodating, that is one thing I keep coming back there.
What a perfect place, this is the first time that I hear of this place, wow.
