CHURCHES AND BEACHES IN SURIGAO DEL NORTE

Got invited to attend the 40th sacerdotal anniversary of Bp. Yiet Cabajog, the bishop of Surigao last April 9, 2021. Hence I took the opportunity to go the beach after the restriction of  travels due to the pandemic. After the celebration I had a whole day free before leaving for Butuan for the flight back to Manila.  I decided to explore Basul island which could be seen from the city itself and the Mabua Pebble Beach aside from visiting the Battle of Surigao Strait Museum. On the way to Butuan, I also passed some parish churches.

KANDIWATA ROCK FORMATION

The Kandiwata Rock Formation is found west of the main island of Daram, Samar and east of Biliran island. It is made of limestone rock just like the limestone cliffs in Palawan, hence it is dubbed as “Small Palawan.” From the town of Babatngon, the boat trip is more than an hour.
