CHURCHES AND BEACHES OF TICAO ISLAND, MASBATE

The province of Masbate is composed of three major islands: Masbate, Ticao and Burias.  One long Undas break I decided to explore both the Ticao and Burias group of islands. This post will feature the Ticao island which is composed of four towns of Monreal, San Jacinto, San Fernando and Batuan.  From Manila we drove to Ticao by night arriving in Pilar in Sorsogon early in the morning in order to catch up with the boat that departs at seven for Monreal.

Our first day was a car tour around the island: Monreal, San Jacinto, San Fernando, Batuan, Zandra’s Beach Resort, Matangtubig Spring, then back to Monreal.  The second day was island hopping where we went to the Catandayagan Falls, Barobancaso Rock Formation and the Halea Island Nature Park.

Arriving by boat in Monreal, Ticao Island.

Since it was not a rainy season, there was not much water on the falls.
